Learn how to make latte at home plus everything you need to know about latte flavors and latte ingredients. Bonus – 4 healthy latte recipes you can make when you want a homemade latte!
Before we get into the details of how to make latte at home and how to make it healthy, let's talk about lattes for a minute, shall we?
In my experience, there are 3 types of coffee lovers – those who like black coffee or regular espresso, those who prefer lattes or sweet coffee drinks, and those who like all types of coffee.
I love an old-fashioned latte here and there, especially when it's cold outside. I'm sure I'm not the only one who loves relaxing on the couch covered in a warm blanket with a latte in my favorite mug, right?
The problem is that most lattes are not healthy. Nor cheap, might I add. Unless... you make it yourself. I'm a big fan of turning delicious but unhealthy recipes into clean, healthy but still great recipes.
Why wouldn't I do that with my latte recipes, right?
right!
The best thing about making a homemade latte is that you have complete control over the latte flavors and latte ingredients. This is always great because not only are you able to make healthy coffee, but you can make it as sweet and flavorful as you want. No more lattes that are too sweet, too cinnamon, or too mild.
So, no matter if you're the type who loves a good latte every day or the type who enjoys one every once in a while, these latte recipes will make your caffeinated moments healthier.
What's in a latte?
What do all latte recipes have in common?
Coffee and milk.
The coffee is usually strong coffee or espresso. The milk is steamed to obtain foam. A latte without foam is known as a flat white, btw.
As I mentioned earlier, many latte flavors can be added to create latte recipes with flavors like mocha latte, chai latte, egg latte, and vanilla latte – the latte we discuss in this post – however, the world of latte doesn't end here. There are many latte ingredients that you can try, especially if you learn how to make latte at home. But more on this later.
