    Delicious Avocado Salsa – All the Healthy Things

    This is homemade Avocado Sauce The recipe should be made all year round, but especially in the warmer months all you want to do is sit by the pool with your favorite drinks and snacks! It’s so easy to make and I love how my recipe boosts the flavor with fresh lemon juice and lemon zest. I’ve made this several times and honestly can’t believe I haven’t shared the recipe with you yet. Make it as your next snack or serve it in burrito bowls or as a side to your favorite protein. You can’t go wrong!

    One taste of this avocado salsa and it’s all you want to eat! Okay, that’s a little dramatic, but this stuff is actually really good.

    • Fast and Easy – Cut the vegetables, combine and serve!
    • Versatile – Increase the heat, add more seasonings or mix and match different ingredients. There are endless ways to make this recipe your own!
    • The perfect flavor boost – Of course, this sauce is fabulous on its own with tortilla chips, but I also like to add it to main dishes taco bowls, fish taco bowlsand sausage breakfast burritos for extra flavor.

    • Avocados: You will need 3 ripe and peeled avocados. I like to go with ripe but not too soft avocados for the best texture.
    • Vegetables: cherry tomatoes, red onions, jalapeños and garlic add great flavor. If you don’t like things on the spicy side, make sure to remove the skin and seeds from the jalapeño first.
    • Cilantro: essential in any good salsa! If you’re not a fan, you can skip it, but the taste won’t be quite the same.
    • Lima: We’re using lemon juice and lemon zest to add a bright citrus flavor. I think this one really does!

    Favorite ways to use it

    As I said this salsa is a staple in my house at parties and summer gatherings with tortilla chips. However, it is also a tasty addition to various proteins and main dishes. Some of my favorite pairs are:

    How to save

    This avocado salsa recipe is best served the day it is made, while all the vegetables are still crisp and fresh. However, if needed, you can store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 1-2 days. Before serving, stir quickly to redistribute the ingredients.

    • 3 ripe avocados, peeled and sliced
    • 1 the cup cherry tomatoesthe quarter
    • 1/2 the cup finely chopped red onion
    • 1/2–1 whole jalapeño, seeded and finely chopped
    • 1 clove of garlic, finely minced
    • 1/3 the cup finely chopped cilantro
    • 3 spoons lemon juice
    • 1 teaspoon lemon peel
    • 1/2 tsp salt, plus more to taste


    1. Make the avocado sauce: Make the salsa by adding all the ingredients to a mixing bowl and mixing until well combined. Season to taste.
    2. Serve with tortilla chips!
