We’re Writing a Cookbook! Want to Help? We are Hiring Recipe Testers

We can’t believe we’re actually saying this, but after 16 years of sharing recipes…we’re finally writing a cookbook!

since Inspired Taste started in 2009it’s been our dream to one day write a cookbook and finally we can say it’s happening 🥳

Adam and I have been behind the scenes testing the recipes in this book for a while (and they are so good). But this is a big project and we need help to make them right. So we’re hiring recipe testers. We’ve done this before and it went so well (remember! dessert recipe tester work and: pasta recipe test work? They were honestly so much fun 🙂

Here’s the deal. in two weeks, you test five recipes, give us your honest feedback, and we’ll pay you $2,000 (see details below for requirements and application).

When experimenting with recipes, remember that these recipes are confidential and must remain confidential until the book is released. Which is part of the fun 😊 You don’t have to be a pro. If you like cooking, please apply.

Requirements to become a recipe tester for our cookbook

We’re looking for passionate home cooks to join the Inspired Taste team for a unique, paid opportunity to test recipes from our upcoming Inspired Taste cookbook before it hits shelves.

• We are looking for someone who LOVES to cook at home. Amateurs and professionals can apply. experience is not necessary.
• Should be available for a two-week period in September 2026 for full-scale testing five recipes for our upcoming Inspired Taste cookbook in your own home. (Note: Recipe testing may occur within two weeks, but may be completed sooner.)
• Must be able to provide photos and videos of the recipe testing process without revealing unpublished dishes to the public before the cookbooks launch.
• Must be a US resident, over the age of 18 and legally able to work in the US.
• Must have stove, oven, pots and pans and basic kitchen utensils. A component scholarship will be awarded.
• Must be comfortable providing structured feedback through the forms provided and maintaining a direct line of communication with the Inspired Taste team.

Benefits of a cookbook recipe tester

• Ingredient scholarship for selected cookbook recipes.
• Additional compensation of $2,000 for a two-week testing period.
• Each tester will receive a signed copy of the Inspired Taste cookbook upon publication.

How do I apply to be a cookbook recipe tester?

First stage. Application:

• Submit your application below or before Noon EST on July 27, 2026. The application form is below.

Second stage. interview and final selection

• If selected to move forward, you will be invited to interview with the Inspired Taste team to assess team suitability and eventual availability.
• Three testers will be selected for this post, the process ended in August 2026.

The third stage. Two-week trial of the recipe

• A two-week period in September 2026, exact dates subject to applicant availability.
• Five recipes from the Inspired Taste cookbook will be tested, and testing may include multiple recipe attempts. Testing will also include written feedback and sharing photos and/or videos of creations with the Inspired Taste team along the way. Please note that all shared photos and videos will remain strictly private.

Cookbook Recipe Tester Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions apply to the Culinary Recipe Tester job application for the Inspired Taste cookbook.

Recipe testing will take place in your home, no travel required.

By submitting an application, applicants will be deemed to have read and accepted these terms and conditions and agree to be bound by them.

• Only one application per person is accepted.
• Entries open to US residents 18+ only. Applications will close at: Noon EST on July 27, 2026.
• You are not eligible to apply if you have an outstanding criminal conviction.
• This is a two-week paid assignment starting at September 2026. The two weeks do not have to be consecutive. Recipe testing can be done after normal business hours, on weekends, etc.
• Applicants will be notified via email if they are selected to proceed with the interview process. Inspired Taste will not contact you via social media or telephone to collect information.
• Although a formal NDA is not required, as a tester you agree to treat all unpublished recipe instructions, measurements and methods as confidential. No public shared images should be shared. Failure to comply with these privacy guidelines will result in immediate removal from the program and forfeiture of any payment.
• If you accept the position, you consent to Inspired Taste’s use of any photo or video content shared as part of the testing or application process for marketing purposes. This includes but is not limited to social media, the Inspired Taste website and press materials.
• By applying, each applicant grants Inspired Taste a non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish or display (in whole or in part) any intellectual property contained in its application without royalty, payment or other compensation.
• Inspired Taste is not responsible for any physical or mental harm during or after the testing period. By applying for this position, you agree to assume responsibility for any risk associated with it and to do so at your own risk.
• Inspired Taste will not be liable for any costs, losses, damages or expenses that the winner may incur in connection with the post or misrepresentation of the benefits listed.
